8th Annual New England Hammer-In

Auburn, Maine

July 17 - 19, 2016

Welcome to the New England School of Metalwork!

Safety glasses are required at all times in the workshop. Safety glasses are available for purchase at the Maine Oxy welding supply store directly across the train tracks.

There will be and open forge area operating all weekend as well as a grinding station. Long pants and leather topped shoes are mandatory for the open forge or grinding station. No exceptions will be made.

3 – 5pm – Classroom – Viking Inlay with Dereck Glaser

3 – 5pm Classroom –Gun Lock Theory with Steve Culver MS

5 – 7pm - Dinner Break

7 – 9:30pm - Shop - Battle of the Bladesmiths: Participants TBD

10 – 12 noon - Classroom – Jigs and Fixtures Steve Culver.

12 noon – 1pm - Lunch - on site and is a la carte.

1 – 3pm - *Knife Show

3 – 5pm – Classroom – Knife Design with Christoph Deringer

3 – 5pm – Shop- Welded Poll Axe with Steve Ash.

5 pm - Lobster Dinner - on site under the tent, price is still $20, and YES, you can have a

DOUBLE lobster for an additional $10 charge! You need to sign up and pay by contacting

Barbara Wechter at the event registration table on Friday before the noon deadline.

*Knife Show: Display tables are included with Registration. Please sign up with Barbara for a table. Custom knives, tailgate sales and antique knives are welcome. Open to the public.
