Other than lodging and food, is the event free to ABS members?

Nicholas the fee for this hammer in is $65.00. The fees are how the hammer ins are paid for. Only the demonstrators have free admission. Still the fee for registration is a real bargain when you consider everything thst is being covered and the quality of instructors. Plus the school in Auburn is very nice.

$65 is great. No complaints here. I just didn't see anywhere on the site that has a price on it.

Nick, One vote between You, Matthew Parkinson and I is just barely squeaking by. <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> That was fun though. It's this kind of learning and excitement that make this venue so great.

Are there any Hotels nearby the school? Camping sounds fun if that's what a lot of people are doing, but hotel are a bit more predictable in terms of getting rest. Read: I woudl be in a tent, and have terrible luck. 🙂

Hey Michael! Yes, there are several hotels. I like the Sleepy Time Motel. Sounds creepy. Is actually quite lovely. They also give a discounted rate to NESM students and event attendees. It's about two miles from the school.

I will second the Sleepytime. Great place to stay! It is small with only eight units, but very nice. Plus the owners are good people.

Hi all, I wanted to let everyone know I will cut on line registration on Wednesday morning, I need some time to put the badges together and get everything mailed to the school. There will be some great event t-shirts available and also some DVDs and books. After I close registration on line, please feel free to register at the door, there is room for all. Enjoy the event.

Hi everyone,

I noticed that there is going to be open forge, and open grinding stations on the schedule. Should we bring our own steel? I am asking because I am new to bladesmithing as well as never having been to a Hammer in before. I'm also hoping that if there is open grinder time, that I can grab and experienced person to tell me what I am doing wrong when grinding bevels. I'm hoping to have several blades ready for bevels when I get there, but was also thinking it might be neat to make a knife with nicer equipment than I have at home. Oooh, and while I'm at it I wonder if there is anyone from the area of Haverhill, NH on here?

Thanks fro the info here! As it turns out I ended up with a nice little pop up camper. Is there a certain section at the mentioned campground for people going to this event?
