Be sure to add it to your calendar.  The ABS Mid America hammer-in is returning August 22, 23, 24 and 25 in 2024 at the Miami County Fair grounds in Troy Ohio.  Brought to you in cooperation with the Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil group.

The Mid-America Hammer-In is the American Bladesmith Society’s largest Event.  Very centrally located in the Midwest United States it continues to grow and offer unparalleled access to information for beginners to advanced smiths.

Hosted by the Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil Blacksmith Association, the facilities are second to none at the Miami County Fairgrounds in Troy, Ohio.  Demonstrations are held in several well-equipped areas just foot steps away from each other.  We have an excellent barbeque being brought in for food and there will be live music on Saturday night.  These additions with the on site camping also makes this Hammer-in the social event of the year.

Our lineup of demonstrators this year is impressive, with ABS Mastersmiths and other experts in their fields that you have probably always wanted to meet. The weekend will include learning opportunities for fledgling forgers to Master Bladesmiths, its own knife show, and physical performance testing for Journeyman and Master Bladesmith certification (no judging this year).

If you camp at the event you will pay for camping at the fairgrounds at the office, there are forms there and a drop box to put the form and money in.  The camping donation is $30.00 per night with 30 amp electric, $40 per night with 50 amp electric, $15.00 per night for primitive camping.
